Former President Barack Obama offered a lighthearted critique of President Donald Trump’s aesthetic changes to the Oval Office while filming a cameo for the new HBO Max production, "Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness." In a clip released on Monday, August 10, Obama is seen touring a replica of the Oval Office designed for a sketch featuring comedian Larry David.

While praising the set design, Obama remarked on the lack of a specific detail he has observed in the real White House. "Nice job on the recreation," the former president said, before adding, "Although I do want to point out there’s no gold sign on the outside that says 'Oval Office.'" Obama noted that he was referencing the gold-script sign that appeared next to the actual Oval Office last November, jokingly admitting, "I can’t believe I didn’t think of that."

The administration’s broader renovation efforts have also included the demolition of the White House's East Wing to facilitate a new ballroom project, which has since faced legal challenges. Additionally, the traditional lawn located in the center section of the Rose Garden has been replaced with stone tiles.

"Democrats are more concerned with President Trump’s historic beautification of the White House than they are for American citizens they are hurting because of their reckless government shutdown," Ingle said. "President Trump is working 24/7 on behalf of the American people and simultaneously making the White House eve
