Nahuel Molina is slated to arrive in Italy this Monday to undergo medical tests, marking the final steps of his transfer from Atletico Madrid to Roma. The deal, valued at approximately €13 million plus an additional €4 million in add-ons, brings the defender back to Serie A following his previous stint with Udinese.
The player's arrival was delayed as he was part of the Argentina squad that competed in the 2026 World Cup Final. Consequently, the club decided not to interrupt his extended vacation. Molina has spent his remaining time off in Ibiza before transitioning to his new role in the Eternal City.
Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed the timeline to reporters following the team's 3-0 friendly defeat to Brighton. Gasperini noted that the squad would see Molina starting Tuesday, which is when he is expected to begin training with his new teammates. Furthermore, the transfer will not occupy a non-EU slot on the Roma roster, as the full-back is currently in the process of obtaining a Spanish passport.
