Jessie Cave, the actress widely recognized for her portrayal of Lavender Brown in the "Harry Potter" film franchise, has disclosed that launching an OnlyFans account in 2025 has provided her with more financial success than her entire 18-year career in the arts industry. In an interview published on Aug. 7, Cave told The Times that she once earned £15,000, or approximately $20,000, in a single day through the platform.
Reflecting on her professional journey, which includes roles in television shows such as "Call the Midwife" and "Black Mirror," as well as the film "Great Expectations," Cave admitted to feeling a "sense of shame" when she first started the account. She previously shared on Substack that the move felt like "proof of my failure to make (or rather, keep hold of) money as an actress and writer." The actress, who has four children with her fiancé Alfie Brown, noted that she felt she had "nothing to show for 18 years of work" prior to this shift.
Despite the financial success, Cave expressed uncertainty regarding the long-term viability of her OnlyFans page. She told The Times that she feels she has "barely any time" to continue making money there because she is "not going naked" on the platform. "I don't know how long I can last if I don’t start giving more," she said, adding that while there are aspects she does not enjoy, she feels she "can't afford to stop."
Cave first appeared as Lavender in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and reprised the role in both "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2." She has faced professional backlash due to her presence on the platform. In September, she revealed that she was excluded from a "Harry Potter" fan convention. According to Cave, the organizers explained the decision by stating it was a "family show and OnlyFans is affiliated with porn." She expressed frustration at this reasoning, noting that many actors who participate in such events have performed nudity or sex scenes in their film and television work, whereas her own content involves minimal activity.
"This was baffling to me, as some actors who do conventions (most actors, actually) have done TV and films in which they’ve done sex scenes and nudity," she wrote. "I'm just playing with my hair!"
