India claimed a victory in their three-day warm-up fixture against SLC XI at the Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground in Colombo, following a fast-paced final day of action. After declaring their first innings at 357/6, India chased down a target of 207 set by the hosts, reaching the requirement just before the close of play.
The day began with India's bowlers making early inroads. Mohammed Siraj trapped Ravindu Rasantha LBW in the fifth over, and Prasidh Krishna dismissed Pasindu Sooriyabandara in the eighth. For SLC XI, Nishan Madushka provided the most resistance, scoring 63 runs and forming key partnerships with Pavan Rathnayake and Anjala Bandara before retiring at the end of the 23rd over. Further contributions came from Bandara, who scored 35, and Nipun Dhanajaya, who added 46. Gurnoor Brar and Ravindra Jadeja each claimed two wickets as the hosts looked to accelerate their scoring.
Shubman Gill, returning from an impact training injury, opened the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. The pair batted with intent, with Jaiswal reaching his half-century in 43 balls before retiring at the end of the 15th over. Gill followed shortly after, departing for 44 runs in the 21st over. Wicketkeepers Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel used the opportunity to spend time at the crease, adding 45 runs together before both were dismissed within a four-over span. Ravindra Jadeja and Manav Suthar also contributed briefly before retiring.
The match concluded with a flourish from Mohammed Siraj. Following Gurnoor's earlier hitting, Siraj struck a six off Sonal Dinisha before hitting three consecutive sixes and a boundary against Keshara Nuwantha to seal the result. KL Rahul and Devdutt Padikkal did not bat in the second innings. The final scorecard showed SLC XI finishing with 363/8 declared and 200/6 declared, while India ended on 357/6 declared and 213/4.
