This mounting tension recently resulted in Gasperini cancelling a scheduled interview while at the club's training camp in Wales.
Although a journalist had traveled to the United Kingdom to conduct the interview on Thursday night, Gasperini did not participate, offering only a polite apology. While official reports cited a clash of commitments as the reason for his absence, the cancellation was viewed as unusual given that the session had been planned for several days. Instead of fulfilling his media obligations, Gasperini was reportedly engaged in a series of meetings with Roma management to address the current state of the transfer market.
Gasperini has publicly expressed his desire for approximately four new signings before the summer transfer window closes. Specifically, he has made it clear that he requires a new winger to complete his attacking unit, a priority that has remained unaddressed since the previous summer. Roma has notably failed to secure any of their primary targets, including Mason Greenwood, Crysencio Summerville, and Antonio Nusa.
The situation is further complicated by speculation that the club may need to sell a current first-team player to generate necessary funds. Additionally, reports indicate that Gasperini has experienced recent friction with sporting director Tony D’Amico, who was appointed to the position in mid-June.
