Chamari Athapaththu and Pathum Nissanka were the standout performers at the annual Sri Lanka Cricket Awards held on Thursday night. The ceremony celebrated elite individual contributions across Test, ODI, and T20I formats throughout the 2025 calendar year, while also recognizing domestic achievements and lifetime contributions to the sport.
Athapaththu further cemented her status as a legend, sweeping multiple categories including the ODI and T20I allrounder awards. She also secured the best T20I batter title for her 190 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 113.77, and claimed the best ODI bowler award with 13 wickets across 11 innings using her offbreaks. While she was not nominated for the best ODI batter award—a title that went to Harshitha Samarawickrama for her 441 runs—the growing depth of the women's game was evident. Kavisha Dilhari was also recognized as the best T20I bowler after claiming eight wickets in eight innings.
Pathum Nissanka led the men's honors, capping a prolific year where he tallied 1,414 runs at an average of 40.40. His performance included 388 runs in five Test innings with two centuries, 401 runs in 12 ODIs, and a career-best 625 runs in 18 T20Is at a strike rate of 149.16. While Nissanka took the best batter prizes for Tests and T20Is, Charith Asalanka was named the best ODI batter for his 494 runs at an average of 44.90, edging out Kusal Mendis.
The awards for emerging talent went to Kamil Mishara and Imesha Dulani. Mishara, 25, was named Men's Emerging Player of the Year following a strong T20I campaign with 336 runs, while 24-year-old Dulani was honored as the Women's Emerging Player of the Year, fresh off a recent unbeaten 101 off 64 deliveries against Pakistan.
In other men's categories, Dushmantha Chameera was named best T20I bowler for his 22 wickets, and Asitha Fernando earned the best ODI bowler award with 23 wickets. Allrounder honors went to Dasun Shanaka for T20Is and Wanindu Hasaranga for ODIs. In the Test format, Prabath Jayasuriya was awarded best bowler for his 15 wickets, while Test captain Dhananjaya de Silva took home the best allrounder award.
