Pilar Sanders has issued a bold challenge to NFL franchises, questioning which teams might have the courage to place her sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, on the same roster. The inquiry followed a recent interview on "This is Football," where Shedeur, currently a quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, identified his brother Shilo as his most "bada**" teammate from their time together at Colorado. Pilar shared the clip on Instagram, adding the caption, "Imagine them on the same team! Who would have the guts to do that?"
The career paths of the two brothers have diverged significantly. Shedeur was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft and is currently fighting for the starting quarterback position against veteran Deshaun Watson. Meanwhile, Shilo signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent but was released after a physical altercation with tight end Zach Davidson during a preseason game. Reflecting on his brother's departure, Shedeur remarked, "Think about how his career ended. He slaps somebody, and he never played again. If he gonna go out, he went out swinging, man."
As training camp progresses, Shedeur faces intense competition for the QB1 role. Browns analyst Tony Grossi noted that while Shedeur is vying for the starting spot, Deshaun Watson holds a distinct advantage in specific areas of preparation. Grossi highlighted that Watson's ability to manipulate the defense into jumping offsides—a skill highly valued by offensive coordinator Todd Monken—has been particularly impressive. According to Grossi, Watson successfully drew Jared Verse offsides twice during drills, whereas Shedeur was unable to replicate the feat, marking a significant point of separation in their ongoing battle for the starting job.
