Roma have reached a verbal agreement with former club captain Lorenzo Pellegrini regarding a contract extension. According to reports from multiple outlets, including Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano, the two parties have established an agreement in principle that will keep the midfielder at the Stadio Olimpico through the end of the 2026-27 season.
Pellegrini, a 36-time Italy international, has been a central figure for the Giallorossi for much of his career. His journey with the club began in 2007 when he joined the youth academy as a schoolchild. Although he departed for a two-year spell at Sassuolo between 2015 and 2017, Roma exercised a buyback clause during the summer of 2017 to bring him back to the capital.
Since returning to the club, the midfielder has remained a consistent presence. Across his career with the Giallorossi, Pellegrini has accumulated 349 competitive appearances and recorded 62 goals.
