Genoa are reportedly on the verge of securing the services of Switzerland international midfielder Djibril Sow from Sevilla. This development has been confirmed by reports emerging from both Italy and Spain, as well as by Sky Sports Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenburg and the Swiss outlet Blick.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who remains under contract with Sevilla until June 2029, is expected to finalize personal terms with the Italian club soon. The move has progressed rapidly for the player, who was originally purchased by Sevilla from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 for a transfer fee of €10 million.

Sow brings significant experience to the potential deal, having earned 56 senior caps for the Swiss national team. He notably featured in four of his nation's six matches during the 2026 World Cup. His recent campaign with Sevilla was statistically productive, as he recorded five goals and four assists across 33 LaLiga appearances.

Throughout his professional career, Sow has played for several notable clubs, including FC Zurich, Borussia Monchengladbach, Young Boys, and Eintracht Frankfurt.
