The innings began with a blistering 71-run partnership between captain Will Jacks and James Vince in just 42 balls. Although Liam Dawson removed Vince, Nicholas Pooran maintained the momentum with aggressive stroke play. Jacks eventually brought up a 28-ball fifty, aided by several boundaries and sixes off Noor Ahmad, before the spinner ended his stay.
