Frosinone are reportedly on the verge of finalizing a deal for Burnley striker Andreas Hountondji. According to transfer reporters Nicolò Schira and Gianluigi Longari, negotiations for the Benin international are at an advanced stage and could be concluded within the next few days.
Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are eager to remove the forward from their books. The English club is reportedly open to a loan agreement that includes an option to buy, which would transition into an obligation should Frosinone maintain their status in Serie A.
Hountondji, who joined Burnley from Caen in 2024 for a fee of €4 million, has struggled to cement his place in the squad. He made only 10 appearances for the club in all competitions before being sent out on consecutive loan spells to Standard Liege and St. Pauli. During his time in Germany last season, he recorded four goals across 23 appearances, following a campaign at Standard Liege where he also netted four goals in 18 matches.
Although his contract with Burnley is valid until June 2028, the player was not part of the side’s Premier League squad last term due to his loan spell in Germany. Frosinone now appears set to provide the striker with a new opportunity in Italy for the 2026-27 season.
