The North Zone squad for the 2026-27 Duleep Trophy will be led by Jammu & Kashmir wicketkeeper-batter Kanhaiya Wadhawan, with allrounder Ayush Badoni serving as the vice-captain. The 15-member roster features a strong contingent from the reigning Ranji Trophy champions, Jammu & Kashmir, who have secured six spots in the side.
Alongside captain Wadhawan, the J&K representatives include opener Qamran Iqbal, middle-order batter Abdul Samad, left-arm spin allrounder Abid Mushtaq, and the fast-bowling duo of Sunil Kumar and Yudhvir Singh. Abdul Samad enters the tournament following a prolific Ranji season where he scored 748 runs in 15 innings at an average of 57.53. Wadhawan also performed strongly with 474 runs at 36.46, while Qamran Iqbal earned his maiden Duleep Trophy call-up after a season highlighted by an unbeaten 160 in the final against Karnataka. Abid Mushtaq, who contributed 445 runs and 20 wickets, will join Nishant Sindhu as a spin allrounder.
Delhi holds the second-highest representation in the squad with four players. This group includes batters Ayush Doseja and Sanat Sangwan, who were the second and third-highest run-scorers in the last Ranji season, respectively. Doseja recorded 949 runs at an average of 105.44, including four centuries, while Sangwan scored 828 runs at 69.00. Yash Dhull and Ayush Badoni have also retained their places in the squad for the second consecutive time.
The pace attack will be spearheaded by Arshdeep Singh, who returns to red-ball cricket for the first time since last year's Duleep Trophy, alongside Sunil Kumar, Yudhvir Singh, and Haryana’s Anshul Kamboj. Notably, Aquib Nabi, the leading bowler from the previous Ranji Trophy season, was unavailable for selection due to his inclusion in the Indian team for their tour of Sri Lanka.
