Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy, a cricketer for the USA, has been issued an eight-year ban from all forms of cricket following an investigation by an ICC anti-corruption tribunal. The sanction, which concludes in November 2033, has been backdated to November 21, 2025, the date he was initially provisionally suspended.
The charges against Reddy arose from his involvement in the 2025 edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament, where the ICC served as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official for the Emirates Cricket Board. The tribunal found the player guilty of three distinct violations of the ICC anti-corruption code.
Under Article 2.1.1, Reddy was found guilty of attempting to fix, contrive, or improperly influence the progress, result, or conduct of matches. Additionally, he was found in breach of Article 2.1.4 for soliciting, inducing, or facilitating another participant to commit a breach of Article 2.1.1. The tribunal also ruled that he violated Article 2.4.7 by obstructing the investigation, specifically through the deletion of data and messages from his mobile device that were considered relevant to the inquiry.
Reddy, who made four T20I appearances for the USA in April 2025, is the second American international to face sanctions under the anti-corruption code this year. Earlier in the season, batter Aaron Jones was provisionally suspended following five breaches of the ICC Code of Conduct during his participation in the Bim10 tournament in Barbados during the 2023-24 season.
