Jerry Jones Considers AT&T Stadium Curtains After Years of Criticism

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has signaled a potential shift in his long-standing refusal to address the glaring sunlight issues at AT&T Stadium. For years, players and fans have criticized the facility's east-west orientation, which creates blinding conditions during afternoon contests. Despite these persistent complaints, Jones has consistently rejected the installation of blackout curtains, even though such measures were successfully deployed during the recently concluded FIFA World Cup.

Speaking with Fox 4 reporters Sam Gannon and Mike on Saturday, Jones indicated that he is now reconsidering his position. While acknowledging the distinction between merely thinking about a solution and taking action, Jones admitted that he is currently evaluating the practical and visual effects of tinting and curtains. The successful implementation of these measures during the World Cup, which reduced glare while maintaining some natural light and views, may have influenced his change of heart.

The potential policy reversal did not escape the attention of NFL analyst Trey Wingo, who criticized the owner for his long-term inaction. Taking to X, Wingo expressed frustration with Jones, writing, "Oh for crying out loud just admit you should have done something about this years ago."

Separately, during the opening press conference of the Dallas Cowboys training camp, Jones reaffirmed his management philosophy, noting that he is willing to adopt successful strategies from rival organizations. He highlighted his willingness to consult with other teams, including the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots, to improve the Cowboys' performance. As the team prepares for the 2026 season with high aspirations, Jones maintains his belief that the franchise is closer to securing its first Lombardi Trophy since 1999 than the general public perceives.

“Okay, where can we be more aggressive in looking at what the Rams have done?

I'm unabashed about sitting down and visiting with the competition about how they're doing it and how they're doing it better.
