Subhadeep Ghosh has been appointed as the new fielding coach for the India men's cricket team. He steps into the role replacing T Dilip, with his first official assignment set to be the two-Test tour of Sri Lanka, which begins on August 15 in Galle.
Ghosh brings a background in coaching across various age groups, having previously served as the head coach for Assam's senior men's team. His experience also includes a two-year tenure with the India women's senior side, which concluded in 2023. During that period, he was part of the support staff for the Women's ODI World Cup in 2022 and the Women's T20 World Cup in 2023. Additionally, Ghosh has worked with India A. As a player, the right-handed batter represented both Assam and Railways, playing 17 first-class matches and 17 List A games.
His predecessor, T Dilip, served as the men's fielding coach from 2021 through the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Dilip later returned for a one-year stint during India's Test tour of the UK in 2025. Both Dilip and assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate were not offered contract extensions following the expiration of their respective agreements. Ten Doeschate departed his role after the white-ball series in England to join KKR as the head of cricket strategy.
