Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has signaled a potential shift in his long-standing position regarding the sun glare at AT&T Stadium. For years, the team's owner has largely ignored complaints from NFL players about the sunlight streaming through the venue's massive glass end-zone doors. However, during a conversation with Fox reporter Mike Doocy on Saturday, Jones indicated that he is now weighing the possibility of tinting the windows to address the issue.
"We're giving that a thought," Jones stated when asked about the potential modifications. The news prompted a quick reaction from NFL insider Jane Slater, who took to social media to express her surprise at the owner's change in perspective. "Day by day I’m getting closer to the idea that this is Jerry’s clone bc who is this man?" Slater posted on X.
The stadium, originally known as Cowboys Stadium, has been the team's home since the 2009 NFL season. Jerry Jones, who purchased the franchise in February 1989, has seen the team secure three Super Bowl titles under his ownership, though the last championship victory occurred in 1996. The organization has faced mounting pressure in recent years following a lack of playoff success since the 2023 season, despite significant investments in player contracts.
Looking ahead, the Cowboys are scheduled to play three preseason games before the 2026 regular season begins. The team will travel to face the Seattle Seahawks on August 15 at 7:00 p.m. CT, followed by a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on August 22 at 9:00 p.m. CT. Their final preseason game is set for August 28 against the New Orleans Saints at 7:00 p.m. CT. Beyond these preparations, Jones noted that he remains open to making roster adjustments before the November trade deadline to strengthen the team for the upcoming season.
