Warwickshire has officially signed Indian top-order batter Pratika Rawal to a contract running through the end of the 2026 season. The 25-year-old is scheduled to join the squad immediately, making her available for selection for the One-Day Cup fixture against Yorkshire at Edgbaston on August 19.
Since making her international debut in December 2024, Rawal has established herself as a formidable 50-over opener. In her short career, she has accumulated 1,189 runs across 26 matches at an impressive average of 47.56. Her performance was instrumental in India’s 2025 World Cup victory, where she finished as the team's second-highest run-scorer with 308 runs. This tally included a crucial century against New Zealand during a must-win encounter, although an ankle injury subsequently prevented her from participating in the knockout stages. Earlier this year in March, she also made her Test debut against Australia, recording 68 runs in the second innings.
Warwickshire Women Head Coach Ali Maiden expressed enthusiasm regarding the new arrival, noting that the club is currently in a strong position in the One-Day Cup standings. Maiden stated that bringing in a player of Rawal's caliber will bolster the line-up as the team aims to conclude the season on a high note.
Rawal shared her excitement about the move, stating that she has heard positive reports about the club and is eager to contribute. She added that she looks forward to the challenge of playing in England, noting, "Walking out at Edgbaston, which is such an iconic ground in world cricket, is also something I’m looking forward to.”
