Liv Morgan is currently preparing for a major challenge at WWE SummerSlam 2026, but the 32-year-old star recently reflected on a frightening incident that nearly jeopardized her appearance at WrestleMania 42. In the third season of the Netflix series WWE Unreal, Morgan detailed a gruesome injury she sustained during a botched backstage segment involving Stephanie Vaquer.
The incident occurred on an episode of Monday Night RAW as part of the build-up to their WrestleMania 42 title match. During a segment where Vaquer attacked Morgan, the two performers accidentally collided, with their foreheads smashing together with significant force. The impact was severe enough that both Morgan and Roxanne Perez, who was also involved, were placed in concussion protocol ahead of the event.
Describing the aftermath, Morgan recounted the visceral reaction from those around her. She noted that the sound of the collision was "literally disgusting" and left everyone backstage horrified. Morgan admitted that she was initially hesitant to examine the extent of the damage, but upon feeling her head, she discovered a large, squishy hematoma. She described the lingering effects, noting that the blood was draining into her eyes, serving as a constant reminder of the intense rivalry.
Following her victory over Stephanie Vaquer to capture the Women's World Championship, Morgan faced a lack of immediate challengers on the red brand. She eventually participated in the Queen of the Ring tournament, where she was defeated in the finals by IYO SKY after being cursed by Danhausen. Following that match in Saudi Arabia, IYO SKY set her sights on Morgan and the Women's World Championship for a showdown at SummerSlam in Minnesota. The upcoming title defense remains a point of concern for the champion, as the curse cast by Danhausen continues to loom over her and The Judgment Day.
