Two Palestinians, including a senior police officer, have been killed and at least 14 others injured in a series of Israeli air strikes across Gaza. These incidents occurred on Saturday, marking further violations of the ceasefire agreement that has been in place since October 10, 2025.
Gaza’s interior ministry identified one of the victims as 54-year-old Abdul Nasser Mohammed al-Maqadma, the police chief for the northern region of the enclave. Witnesses reported that an Israeli drone targeted a bicycle near the Al-Ghazali intersection in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City, resulting in al-Maqadma's death and injuries to others nearby.
Medical sources also confirmed that 11 Palestinians were wounded during an Israeli air strike aimed at a gathering outside al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al Balah, located in central Gaza. Additionally, two Palestinians were reported seriously wounded when an Israeli drone struck a group of civilians west of the Al-Zawayda area. In a separate incident in northern Gaza, another individual sustained serious injuries in a drone strike on a vehicle near the Abu Sharkh roundabout.
Separately, medical officials confirmed that police officer Yamen Obeid passed away from injuries sustained during an Israeli strike on July 14. According to the Gaza health ministry, Israeli ceasefire violations, including ongoing air strikes and gunfire, have claimed the lives of 1,191 Palestinians and left 3,853 others wounded.
These recent casualties occur amid a broader conflict that began in October 2023. Since that time, Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of more than 73,000 Palestinians and left over 173,000 injured, with 90 percent of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure suffering widespread destruction.
