Fiorentina are currently in advanced negotiations to bring full-back Joao Mario to the club on loan from Juventus. According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the proposed deal includes an option to buy the 26-year-old at the end of the season, with the total fee expected to be in the region of €8 million to €9 million.

The Portugal international has struggled to establish himself in Turin since completing a €12 million transfer from FC Porto in the summer of 2025. During his time with Juventus, he made only 13 appearances and recorded one assist. In January, he was sent on loan to Bologna as part of an exchange deal involving Emil Holm, though neither club opted to make the transfer permanent, leading to his return to Juventus.

While at Bologna, Joao Mario featured in 15 matches and contributed two goals. Fiorentina now appear to be the frontrunners to keep the defender in Serie A as they work to finalize the terms of his departure from the Bianconeri.

It is expected to be a loan with option to buy at the end of the season for a total fee of €8-9m.
