Dubai-based carrier flydubai has announced the temporary suspension of all flights to Tel Aviv, acting on the request of authorities following a serious incident in the cockpit. CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith confirmed the suspension in a statement released on Friday via the Dubai Media Office, noting that the airline is currently providing assistance to affected passengers to help them reach their final destinations.

The decision follows an emergency involving flight FZ1073, which was en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30 when it was forced to divert to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The airline described the event as a "safety incident in the flight deck" and clarified that an "altercation occurred" during the journey. Crew members were credited with securing the aircraft, allowing for a safe landing in Saudi Arabia.

All 172 passengers and crew members aboard the flight are reported to be safe and are receiving necessary support. The captain, who sustained injuries during the incident, has since returned to the UAE after receiving medical clearance. Saudi airport officials reported that both the captain and the first officer were taken to the hospital following the flight's arrival. Al Ghaith expressed gratitude toward the pilots for their professional handling of the aircraft, as well as the cabin crew and passengers who offered assistance.

A full official investigation into the matter is currently underway, with Al Ghaith urging the public to remain patient as authorities work to establish the facts surrounding the incident. UAE officials stated on Thursday that the investigation will specifically examine whether the cockpit altercation involved prior planning, direction, or links to "terrorist activity." Al Ghaith also thanked Saudi authorities for their "swift and professional response" in handling the diversion and the subsequent care of those on board.
