A large-scale Ukrainian drone strike targeting Russia’s southern Rostov region has resulted in multiple injuries and necessitated the evacuation of local residents, according to regional authorities. Governor Yuriy Slyusar confirmed the details of the nighttime assault on Telegram, reporting that seven people were injured in the incident.
Four of the victims have been hospitalised in Rostov-on-Don, the regional capital. Governor Slyusar stated that one of these individuals is currently in serious condition. The impact of the drone activity was felt across several districts, with significant damage reported to civilian infrastructure.
In the Proletarsky district, debris from a falling unmanned aerial vehicle damaged two apartment complexes. As a result of the structural damage, emergency services were required to relocate residents to a temporary shelter. Meanwhile, in the Aksaysky district, authorities discovered drone fragments at a warehouse site and reported that a fire had broken out in a nearby forest belt.
Private homes in the Bagayevsky district also sustained damage during the attack, though officials noted that no casualties were recorded in that area. Governor Slyusar has issued a warning that the drone threat remains active, advising residents to stay indoors and keep away from windows for their safety. The Ukrainian government has not yet released an official statement regarding the strike.
