Juventus coach Spalletti has shared his thoughts on his team's progress and upcoming plans ahead of their friendly match against Palermo. Reflecting on their recent performance against Serie A champions Inter, where Juventus fought back after falling 2-0 behind, the manager expressed optimism about his squad's development during the pre-season.
Looking ahead to the friendly with Palermo, Spalletti confirmed key selection details, including a planned change in goal and a cautious approach with defender Federico Gatti, who is currently drawing transfer interest from Napoli. "Perin will play against Palermo, it was a choice we’d already planned," Spalletti explained. "Gatti, though, won’t start because he has a bit of fatigue. We’ll see during the match whether we need him, but at most he could play twenty minutes or half an hour, no more."
Despite Palermo playing in Serie B, Spalletti expects a stern test from the opposition and had high praise for their manager, Filippo Inzaghi. "Palermo are a Serie B side, but they have many players who know Serie A well and a very motivated coach," Spalletti said. "Inzaghi will surely become a top coach.
