Reflecting on the transition, Cuadrado explained that he had intended to stay at Juventus. He noted that the club had initially offered him a new contract, but they ultimately failed to keep their word. "I was a free agent after eight years, and many people considered it a betrayal when I moved to Inter," Cuadrado told DSports. "However, when you are out of work, you need to seek other options. Besides, I didn’t want to leave Juventus, they had offered me a new contract, and then broke their promise."
Cuadrado’s career in Italy has included stints at Lecce, Fiorentina, and Chelsea before he joined Juventus in 2015. Despite the controversial move to San Siro, where he had a stint that did not prove to be particularly fruitful, he maintains a strong connection to his time in Turin. After his tenure at Inter, he played for Atalanta and most recently represented Pisa last season.
Now a free agent once again, the veteran midfielder expressed that Juventus remains the club that defines his professional journey. "I was the captain, I made history for Juventus with over 300 games, a figure even many Italian players never managed to achieve," he said. "I see that and I feel proud."
