Recent Israeli air strikes across the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of eight Palestinians, including a child, according to medical reports. In the southern city of Khan Younis, medics at Nasser Hospital stated that five individuals were killed during an air strike in Al Mawasi. Gaza’s interior ministry later identified those five victims as police officers. Local residents reported that the strike occurred in close proximity to schools for children, triggering widespread panic among the students.
Palestinian authorities have frequently criticized such actions, asserting that Israel’s ongoing military campaign includes the deliberate targeting of police personnel and infrastructure. Officials argue that these strikes are intended to weaken public order institutions and undermine essential civilian infrastructure. According to Palestinian authorities, approximately 3,000 police officers have been killed since the conflict began in October 2023. The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has accused Israel of intentionally targeting officers who are attempting to maintain security and stability, characterizing these attacks as part of a broader effort to incite chaos.
In a separate incident in Gaza City, a medical source at al-Shifa Hospital confirmed that three Palestinians, including one child, were killed in an Israeli air strike on al-Thawra Street. Local sources indicated that an Israeli drone targeted a gathering of civilians in the area, leaving six other individuals with injuries ranging in severity. These latest casualties occur as Israel continues to violate the ceasefire established last year.
Data from Gaza’s health ministry shows that since October 10, 2025, persistent ceasefire violations have claimed the lives of 1,580 people and left 5,711 wounded. Since the broader conflict began in October 2023, the total death toll has surpassed 74,000, with over 175,000 people injured. Furthermore, reports indicate that approximately 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure has been destroyed throughout the ongoing military operations.
