Kuwait confirmed on Saturday that Iranian forces struck another of its essential power and water distillation plants, resulting in the deactivation of several power generation units. This incident follows a similar attack on Friday that caused fire and damage at a facility, marking two consecutive days of strikes on the nation's energy infrastructure. According to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the latest hostile attack triggered a fire in a key component of the plant. Kuwait’s fire service reported that the strikes on Saturday ignited blazes at two separate locations, leaving several firefighters and a worker injured.
The impact of these attacks has extended to national travel, as the Kuwait International Airport temporarily suspended air traffic due to the threat of rockets and drones. The national carrier announced that most flights are currently being rescheduled. Meanwhile, in Bahrain, the army successfully repelled a wave of aerial assaults. Witnesses in Manama reported hearing loud blasts after air-raid sirens sounded across the area. The Bahraini army stated that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed a series of hostile Iranian aerial attacks.
Bahrain’s interior ministry confirmed that sirens had been activated five times since dawn and urged all residents to seek immediate shelter. The Iranian army claimed responsibility for the operation, asserting that the strikes were retaliation for American military actions. According to Iran's state broadcaster, the targets included aircraft shelters, parking areas, and fuel storage tanks at the US-utilized Sheikh Isa Air Base, as well as various connecting bridges throughout Bahrain.
