The Indonesian government has issued a formal condemnation of Israel’s rejection of a 15-point roadmap designed for the recovery of Gaza. Jakarta warned that dismissing this proposal threatens to derail collective international efforts aimed at ending the conflict and rebuilding the Palestinian territory.
Foreign ministry spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela addressed the issue during a media briefing in Jakarta on Thursday. According to reports from Antara News, Nabyl stated that Indonesia views the roadmap as a vital international initiative to restore living conditions for Palestinians. He emphasized, "We reject any rejection that could derail this collective effort."
The recovery plan, which has garnered support from various international parties, seeks to halt the ongoing war, stabilize Gaza, and foster broader regional stability. The framework was officially endorsed by the UN Security Council through Resolution 2803, which was adopted in November 2025. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the document on Sunday, asserting that Israeli forces would not withdraw from Gaza until the Palestinian resistance group Hamas is completely disarmed.
The situation remains volatile despite a ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025, as part of the first phase of a plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. Gaza's Health Ministry reports that Israeli military operations have persisted despite the ceasefire, resulting in at least 1,258 deaths and 4,139 injuries since the truce began. Since the conflict escalated in October 2023, the ministry estimates that the total death toll from the Israeli offensive has surpassed 73,000, with more than 174,000 people wounded.
