A series of powerful explosions struck a military facility in the vicinity of Al-Eis, located in the southern countryside of Syria's Aleppo province. According to local sources, the blasts occurred at an ammunition depot under the jurisdiction of the Syrian Defence Ministry. The initial detonation triggered a continuous chain of secondary explosions across the military site.
Syrian state media, including the broadcaster Al-Ikhbariya, reported that the cause of the incident remains under active investigation. In response to the emergency, the Internal Security Directorate in Aleppo province implemented safety measures, which included placing security forces on high alert. Authorities took the decision to shut down the vital Aleppo-Damascus international highway, as well as auxiliary roads leading to the affected sector, to protect the civilian population.
Aleppo Governor Azzam Al-Gharib issued a formal statement urging residents to remain inside their homes and avoid the area near the explosions. He confirmed that emergency services, including hospitals and ambulance teams, are currently on standby. The governor noted that relevant authorities are actively monitoring the situation on the ground to manage the emergency response. As of the time of reporting, health authorities have not confirmed any official figures regarding casualties or injuries.
