Former Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro has issued a veiled response to Jose Mourinho following the release of his new Netflix documentary. The pair were involved in a high-profile dispute 11 years ago that led to Carneiro's departure from the club. Taking to social media, Carneiro teased an upcoming project, describing it as a "truly Special One" and emphasizing that it is "not an old set piece." She indicated that the project is something she has been working on for years and is scheduled for an autumn release.
The social media post comes in the wake of Mourinho’s recent comments regarding the 2015 incident, where he referred to Carneiro as the "daughter of a wh*re" during a Premier League match against Swansea City. In his documentary, the former Chelsea boss refused to apologize for the remark, claiming that such language was common in football and suggesting that Carneiro had taken the situation too seriously because she was not a "football person."
Following the 2015 incident at the start of the 2015-16 season, Carneiro was removed from first-team duties. She left Chelsea approximately one month later and subsequently initiated legal action against the club for sexual discrimination and constructive dismissal. The case resulted in a substantial settlement for the doctor, who has largely remained out of the public eye since. Separately, the documentary also highlighted Mourinho’s past career decisions, including his revelation that he had initially agreed to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United in 2013 before changing his mind to return to Chelsea, a move that mirrored the club's earlier interference in the transfer of John Obi Mikel.
