Atalanta has completed the signing of defender Thomas Kristensen from Udinese. The transfer is structured as a loan with an option to buy that will transition into an obligation under specific, easily achievable conditions. The total value of the deal is €22 million, plus additional performance-related bonuses, potentially reaching up to €25 million.
The 24-year-old Denmark international arrived in Bergamo on the night of his signing to undergo medical examinations, which he successfully completed before finalizing the contract. Kristensen originally joined Udinese in 2023 from Aarhus in a deal worth approximately €5 million. During his time with the Friulani, he made 81 appearances, contributing four goals and one assist.
With this move, Kristensen joins Atalanta to serve as the replacement for Berat Djimsiti. Djimsiti recently concluded his decade-long tenure at the club to pursue a new opportunity with Al-Diriyah FC.
Now 24, he went on to make 81 appearances for the Friulani, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
