Atalanta are emerging as the primary contenders for West Ham United defender Jean-Clair Todibo, according to reports from Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà. The 26-year-old is looking to depart the Hammers following the club's relegation from the Premier League, and he has attracted interest from several clubs, including Olympique Marseille and Napoli.
The current pursuit marks a return to a long-standing interest for the Bergamo side. The connection dates back to 2024, when West Ham secured Todibo from OGC Nice on a loan deal featuring an obligation to buy for a total fee of €40 million. At that time, the centre-back was nearing a move to Juventus, but those negotiations collapsed due to disagreements over personal terms. Notably, the director who managed those initial talks for Juventus was Cristiano Giuntoli, who has since transitioned to his current role as the director of sport at Atalanta.
Despite the interest from various parties, Todibo remains under contract with West Ham until June 2029. While Napoli have been linked to the defender, reports suggest they are currently prioritizing other targets, specifically leaning toward Chelsea’s Benoit Badiashile or Juventus defender Federico Gatti.
