Atalanta has announced that Charles De Ketelaere and Honest Ahanor will miss the upcoming friendly match against Athletic Club. Both players sustained muscular injuries during a training session in Bergamo on Wednesday and subsequently underwent medical evaluations to determine the severity of their conditions.

According to a statement released by the club, De Ketelaere has been diagnosed with a strain in his left adductor, while defender Ahanor is dealing with an adductor issue in his right leg. Although the club noted that both are low-grade strains without significant damage, the players will remain sidelined for rest and further evaluation over the coming days.

This development rules both out of the Trofeo Bortolotti, the XXVII edition of which will take place at the New Balance Arena this Friday. The pair joins Kamaldeen Sulemana on the injury list, who is currently expected to be out for two months due to a knee ligament injury.

Looking ahead, La Dea is preparing for their season opener in the Conference League play-off against Hapoel Tel-Aviv, scheduled for August 20, with the second leg following on August 27. The team's Serie A campaign is set to begin on August 23 with a home match against Sassuolo.
