Sassuolo have completed two significant roster moves as the club looks to reshape its squad. The Neroverdi have officially secured the signing of defender Rafa Obrador on a loan deal from Benfica, which includes an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. According to reports, the fee to finalize the transfer is set at €7 million.
This move marks a return to Serie A for the 22-year-old, who previously spent the latter half of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Torino. Obrador is a Spain Under-21 international and a former product of the Real Madrid youth academy, having also represented Deportivo La Coruna prior to his time with Benfica.
In a separate transaction, the club confirmed that striker Agustin Alvarez has been sent out on loan to Club Atletico Talleres. The agreement for the 25-year-old Uruguay international also includes an option to buy at the conclusion of the season. Alvarez originally joined Sassuolo from Penarol in 2022 and has since experienced several loan spells throughout his career, including stints at Sampdoria, Elche, and Monza.
