Juventus have secured an agreement with Bologna for the transfer of Colombian centre-back Jhon Lucumi, with the player expected to arrive in Turin to undergo his medical examination before the end of the weekend. The deal, finalized on Thursday, will see the Bianconeri pay a total fee of €20 million, a figure that includes various bonuses and add-ons.
The negotiations saw Bologna initially push for the full €28 million release clause stipulated in the defender's contract. However, as the transfer window progressed and concerns mounted regarding the possibility of the 28-year-old leaving for free when his contract expires next summer, the club reduced their demands to €25 million before eventually settling on the €20 million fee.
Lucumi is currently in the final year of his existing contract at the Dall’Ara. Depending on his arrival time in Turin, the defender is scheduled to begin the first stage of his medical assessments on Saturday. If the process proceeds according to plan, he is expected to complete the remaining formalities and sign his contract on Sunday.
