The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has announced that its forces successfully destroyed US HIMARS missile launchers stationed in Kuwait. In a statement released through the semi-official Fars News Agency, the IRGC described the operation as a precision drone strike, claiming the missile systems and their associated pods were prepared to fire toward Iranian territory.
Beyond the destruction of military equipment, the IRGC statement cited unofficial reports alleging that the operation resulted in the deaths of three US officers and left several others wounded. The organization stated that these short-range HIMARS missiles had been used to target various locations along Iran's southern coast throughout the ongoing US-Israeli offensive, which began in February.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a strong rebuttal to these assertions via a post on X, characterizing the claims as Iranian propaganda and explicitly denying that any American service members were killed in Kuwait during such an attack. There has been no immediate official comment from Kuwaiti authorities regarding the specific Iranian claim of a drone strike on US assets.
Prior to this announcement, Kuwait had reported that three land border posts in the northern part of the country and an offshore drilling platform operated by the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) had been subjected to attacks. While these incidents caused material damage and resulted in one injury to a worker, Kuwaiti officials did not specify which party was responsible for those strikes.
