Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has made the decision to discontinue its Muse Image feature. The tool was removed only days after its initial launch, following a wave of privacy backlash from the platform’s user base.
The feature was first introduced on Tuesday as the debut image-generation model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs. It had been integrated directly into the company’s Meta AI chatbot service.
Functionality for the now-scrapped tool allowed users to utilize their own photos as input data. Additionally, the software provided users with the ability to perform direct edits on generated images through the use of sketches.
