Marco Rubio Urges Cubans to Form Partnership With CIA

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has officially called on individuals in Cuba seeking national change to establish a "discrete partnership" with the CIA. In a recent social media statement, Rubio argued that "now is the time" for those hoping to foster positive developments within the country to take action.

Addressing the public, Rubio stated: "The disappointment of failed promises, corruption, and the privileged lives of only a few; seize this opportunity to create the change you desire through a discrete partnership with the CIA."

This appeal aligns with the broader strategy of the Trump administration, which has consistently communicated its intention to facilitate a transition in leadership in Havana. President Donald Trump has previously characterized the country as being "ready to fall."

The administration’s pressure on the island nation intensified in January, following a US military operation aimed at capturing former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. At that time, President Trump announced an oil blockade on Cuba, noting on his Truth Social account that the country had relied for many years on significant financial and oil support from Venezuela. During a press briefing in September, President Trump expressed confidence in his ability to reach an arrangement with the Cuban government.
