The Lebanese health ministry has reported that Israeli military strikes late Friday resulted in the deaths of at least three people and left 23 others wounded. The operations targeted five specific locations spread across the southern regions of Tyre and Nabatieh, as well as the Bekaa region in the east.
Among those injured were medics, as well as women and children, according to official ministry data. The Israeli military stated that the strikes were conducted in response to a drone attack launched by Hezbollah towards Israeli soldiers. Hezbollah has not yet provided a response to these claims.
The ongoing regional tensions have seen a significant number of incidents in recent months. Lebanese authorities report that they have documented over 5,000 violations of a US-mediated truce by the Israeli military since June, with cumulative estimates for such violations exceeding 10,000 across various successive frameworks. Since March 2, Israeli attacks in Lebanon have resulted in more than 4,300 fatalities.
