The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces has announced that its air defence systems are actively engaging hostile missile and drone attacks. In a statement released on the social media platform X, the military leadership characterized the incident as "heinous Iranian aggression."
Residents across various parts of the country reported hearing loud explosions, which the military confirmed were the result of air defence batteries intercepting incoming hostile targets. Authorities have issued a formal directive, urging all citizens and residents to strictly observe security and safety protocols during the ongoing operation.
Reports from the Iranian IRIB news agency claimed that the aerial assault successfully struck US military bases located within Kuwait. The agency further alleged that one American base was hit, resulting in plumes of smoke rising from the site. These events occur against a backdrop of heightened military hostilities throughout the Gulf region, where the United States and Iran have been involved in a cycle of retaliatory strikes since February.
Kuwait has frequently found itself within the range of such regional attacks. At this time, it remains unclear whether Kuwaiti armed forces or domestic infrastructure have sustained any casualties or physical damage as a result of the aerial barrage.
