Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, held a phone conversation on Monday to discuss strengthening bilateral relations alongside key regional and global developments.
According to a statement from Türkiye's Communications Directorate, Erdogan praised the steady growth of ties between Ankara and Brasilia, emphasizing that the solid foundations of their relationship were established 20 years ago.
During the call, the Turkish leader highlighted that expanding cooperation across various sectors—particularly in trade, investment, and the defense industry—would yield mutual benefits for both nations.
Erdogan also expressed optimism that Türkiye and Brazil could pioneer an economic cooperation model to boost prosperity for their citizens, especially in the face of rising global protectionist trends. Additionally, he noted that the peace-focused policies pursued by both countries continue to make positive contributions to global stability.
