Jake Gyllenhaal and his godmother, Jamie Lee Curtis, shared a unique living arrangement during the Covid-19 pandemic. The two stars recently opened up about the period when Gyllenhaal and his girlfriend, Jeanne Cadieu, resided in a house located next door to one owned by Curtis. Curtis, who won the best supporting actress Oscar at the 2023 Academy Awards, maintains a close friendship with Gyllenhaal’s parents, director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner.

Reflecting on the time spent together while at the premiere of Gyllenhaal’s new thriller, "The Covenant," Curtis noted that the experience allowed them to get to know one another better. She confirmed that the actor lived in her property for almost a year during the pandemic. During this time, the group passed the hours with various creative and domestic pursuits. Curtis shared that Gyllenhaal engaged in acting, singing, and even performed handstands for the small group. She specifically recalled the actor testing his agility by performing a handstand against a wall while simultaneously removing and replacing his shirt.

Gyllenhaal also turned to bread baking during the lockdown, a hobby that has persisted long after the pandemic concluded. The actor confirmed that he continues to make and consume sourdough bread today. These details were shared by the pair during the premiere of Gyllenhaal’s latest project, "The Covenant," a military thriller directed by Guy Ritchie. The film also stars Alexander Ludwig, Antony Starr, Bobby Schofield, and Jonny Lee Miller.

“I am still eating sourdough,” he said. “Yes. I haven’t stopped. Even though we’re out of the pandemic, I am still making sourdough.”
